CPCS 2023 Giving Day Statement
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the College of Professional and Continuing Studies, which was founded as the ABLE (Adult Bachelor’s Learning Experience) Program in 1973. CPCS continues its proud legacy of providing adult learners the opportunity to complete a bachelor’s degree with rigorous programs that are convenient and affordable. Today, this mission is more important than ever: an estimated 39 million Americans have completed some college without obtaining a degree, and research shows that returning to complete a degree can significantly boost career trajectories and lifetime earnings.
Your gift will fund scholarships to support returning adult learners like Jessica Sweeting. After watching her mother struggle with illness for years, Jessica came to Adelphi with a passion and determination to study natural science. Thanks to the scholarship support she received, Sweeting was able to get one step closer to her dream of being a biochemist.
"Receiving this scholarship has lightened my financial burden, which allows me to focus more on my studies. I hope one day I will be able to help students achieve their goals just as you have helped me."
At a time when financing the cost of college can be a struggle, your gift gives CPSC students access to Adelphi's personalized education and the tools to achieve their goals.
Thank you, Panthers, for making every minute count on Giving Day 2023! We are grateful for your support.
While we are busy tallying up the final results to share with you, please take a moment to read some words of thanks from the Adelphi community.
