Gifts to Softball Traditions Project contribute to...
BUILDING OUR FUTURE, CELEBRATING OUR PAST
CELEBRATE THE HISTORY
Adelphi’s varsity softball program was established in 1972 by alumna, coach, professor and Panther Hall of Famer, Janet L. Ficke. During her 17-year tenure as coach, Ficke instituted and elevated the softball program, accumulating an impressive 362-160-3 overall record with five NCAA Tournament berths and three College World Series appearances. In 2003, the softball field was renamed Ficke Field, in honor of Janet’s leadership and her dedication to Adelphi softball.
JOIN THE TRADITION
The Softball Traditions Project is designed to ensure that the legacy of the program carries on for future generations. The funds raised will establish a brand-new Wall of Honor at Ficke Field to highlight the team’s storied history and refurbish the surrounding grounds. Join Adelphi in celebrating Janet L. Ficke’s legacy by promoting the continued growth of this phenomenal program.
You can be a part of the Softball Traditions Project in one of three ways:
- Make a multi-year pledge
- Make a one-time gift
- Purchase an engraved paver
Individuals who make a multi-year pledge or a one-time gift over $1,000 will have their name displayed on a special donor plaque on the Wall of Honor.
Gifts of any size to the Softball Traditions Project are appreciated and help preserve the history of the Softball Team for generations to come.
