Your gift to any of the three priorities below build world-class programs that integrate research, theory and practice for students at all levels of study.
Patrick L. Ross Fellowship Fund
The Patrick L. Ross Fellowship Fund, our first million dollar endowment, was created in honor of our longtime professor and former associate dean's retirement in 2012. Your gift will provide financial assistance to a doctoral student who evidences academic promise and financial need.
Derner Undergraduate Student Emergency Fund
Many of our Derner School of Psychology undergraduate students have experienced financial stressors in a post-COVID world that have led to delayed registration, deferrals, and even attrition that have prohibited them from participating in essential research projects, internships, conferences, and training. Your support can help keep our students on track to graduate, giving them the opportunity to pursue their dreams of practicing psychology and improving the lives of those around them.
Master's Students Tackle the Opioid Crisis on Long Island
The Derner School of Psychology is honing its talents to tackle the critical opioid addiction crisis that currently grips Long Island and the entire U.S. Your gift will allow students who are specializing in the treatment of substance use disorders to attend the National Association of Addiction Professionals' annual conference. Students will participate in three days of education, training, networking, and capacity-building with thought leaders in the addiction profession. In turn, these students will be better prepared to serve long island families impacted by addiction. With their mission of leading, unifying, and empowering addiction-focused professionals to achieve excellence through education, advocacy, knowledge, standards of practice, ethics, professional development and research, this will be an incredible experience for our students.
The Jonathan Jackson Endowed Clinical Psychology Workshop Series
This Endowed Series sponsors workshops that engage our entire community on the critical issues of our time in clinical psychology. The series will enable the University to welcome distinguished presenters who stimulate dialogue and enhance understanding. An endowed workshop series would create a forum on campus for renowned scholars and professional practitioners to engage students, staff, faculty, and alumni.
