The College of Arts and Sciences provides students a first-rate liberal arts based education. Our accomplished faculty are invested in teaching students to be the next generation of critical and creative thinkers, and global leaders.
With the support of donors like you on Giving Day, we can encourage students to participate in experiential learning opportunities such as research, internships, study abroad, and professional development in order to enhance their education and deepen their skills.
1. Dean's Excellence Fund
The Dean’s Excellence Fund supports excellence in faculty teaching and student learning. Our goal is to provide every single student with an experiential learning opportunity. Whether it's a study abroad trip, field work, performances or research, these high-impact experiences get students out of the classroom and into real world settings, where they can apply their knowledge and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Gifts will also support faculty interdisciplinary teaching, evidence-based learning, curricular development, and pedagogical innovation.
2. Student Excellence Fund
This initiative seeks to support student success for those students enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences. Examples include (but are not limited to) funding for:
- excursions for CAS students visiting important cultural establishments or participating in study abroad
- CAS student-led clubs and organizations
- stipends for CAS students undertaking valuable but unpaid or underpaid internships
- CAS students presenting research and creative works at professional conferences and festivals
- incentives for faculty and staff who plan student success program initiatives outside of the regular curriculum
No matter which fund you choose, your generosity will impact our students, faculty and the College of Arts and Sciences community. Thank you for being a part of our story!
