A Force for Social Mobility
Adelphi is proud to be nationally recognized as a leading university for social mobility. Here at the Ruth S. Ammon College of Education and Health Sciences, we are committed to providing all qualified students– many who are the first in their families to attend college– with opportunities for learning and a pathway toward a degree and career success.
We believe that expanding our classrooms to the world is critically important. Through our study abroad and service-learning programs, our students have the opportunity to explore different cultures and to gain a better understanding of the global community. These trips are invaluable experiences, especially for students who would not have the means to travel otherwise.
We are also partnering with Long Island schools to develop a teacher education pipeline. This effort is designed to let high school students from local districts, such as East Meadow and Mineola, experience Adelphi and their future profession. When we can recruit students and give them the support and resources they need to graduate and begin their teaching careers, they can go on to inspire future generations and prove that a college education is attainable for all.
Thank you for supporting the Ruth S. Ammon College of Education and Health Sciences and the leaders and educators of tomorrow!
